The 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Liberation of Kon Plong District (October 12, 1974 - October 12, 2024)

On the evening of October 12, 2024, the Kon Plông District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kon Plông District solemnly held the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Kon Plông District Liberation Day (October 12, 1974 - October 12, 2024).

                                               

The 50th Anniversary Celebration was attended by the following distinguished guests: Dương Văn Trang, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lê Ngọc Tuấn, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; U Huấn, Alternate Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; former provincial leaders through various periods; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and political-social organizations; leaders from districts and cities; revolutionary veterans, Heroes of the Armed Forces; leaders of Kon Plông District, along with a large number of tourists and local residents.

Representatives from outside the province included leaders from the Political Department of Military Region 5, the Political Department of Military Corps 3, as well as leaders from the districts of Ba Tơ, Sơn Hà, Sơn Tây, Trà Bồng, Minh Long (Quảng Ngãi), and Kbang District (Gia Lai Province).

                                    

In his speech at the anniversary celebration, Đồng chí Đặng Quang Hà, Deputy Secretary of the Kon Plông District Party Committee and Chairman of the Kon Plông District People's Committee, recalled the heroic revolutionary tradition of the cadres, soldiers, and people of the ethnic groups in the district, the provincial armed forces, and the main forces of the Central Highlands front. He particularly emphasized the role and significance of the "Măng Đen Victory" — a historic milestone in the resistance war against the U.S., which led to the complete liberation of Kon Plông District.
                                               
                                                
The Chairman of the Kon Plông District People's Committee highlighted the achievements of the District Party Committee, government, and the people of the ethnic groups in Kon Plông over the 50 years since liberation. The economy has developed rapidly and sustainably, with the total production value reaching 4,152 billion VND by 2023. The average income per capita is 40 million VND/person/year. The budget revenue in the district reached 470 billion VND; the total number of tourists, key industrial products, and main crops of the district continue to be focused on development; the business investment environment continues to be emphasized; social welfare policies and poverty reduction programs have been implemented fully, promptly, and in accordance with regulations; educational infrastructure has received attention and investment; healthcare quality has improved; national defense and security have been maintained, and social order and safety have been ensured.


                                                   

Speaking at the ceremony, Đồng chí Lê Ngọc Tuấn, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, congratulated, acknowledged, and praised the efforts and achievements of the District Party Committee, government, and the people of the ethnic groups in Kon Plông over the past period.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that, in the coming time, the District Party Committee, government, and people of Kon Plông should continue to build on the achieved results with the spirit of the "Măng Đen Victory" and focus on leading and directing the successful implementation of the goals and targets set in the 19th Party Congress of Kon Plông District, especially Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, dated September 20, 2021, by the Provincial Party Committee of the 16th term, regarding the investment and development of dynamic economic regions in Kon Tum Province by 2025, with a vision towards 2030.

He further emphasized the continued implementation of Conclusion No. 21-KL/TW by the Central Party Committee (13th term) on strengthening the construction and rectification of the Party and political system, resolutely preventing, pushing back, and strictly handling officials and Party members with degraded political ideology, morality, lifestyle, or signs of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation." He also highlighted the importance of using young, capable local officials, focusing on vocational training for rural laborers, labor export, healthcare for the people, promoting multidimensional and sustainable poverty reduction, and continuing the movement to "Change the mindset and methods of ethnic minorities, helping them escape poverty sustainably," while encouraging the people to eliminate outdated customs and practices that are no longer suitable in the region.

                                                       
 

On this occasion, the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism awarded a Certificate of Merit to the District Party Committee, government, and people of Kon Plông for their outstanding achievements in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the ethnic minorities in connection with tourism development.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also presented a Certificate of Merit to the people and officials of Kon Plông District for their outstanding achievements in work, labor, and production, contributing to the economic and social development, as well as the national defense and security of the locality, on the 50th anniversary of the Kon Plông District Liberation Day (October 12, 1974 - October 12, 2024).



                                                       
At the ceremony, the delegates were also able to watch the documentary "Kon Plông - Proud of the Past, Awakening Its Potential" and enjoy the artistic program "The Homeland Echoes the Victory Anthem," performed by artists and actors from the Military Region 5 Art Troupe.
